Sivagayinee's research is about exploring about the knowledge acquisition and skills challenges faced in BIM construction projects. She is trying to identify the skills challenges faced in BIM construction projects and to understand how construction professionals acquire the knowledge to become a skilled person to work with this new BIM technology. Sivagayinee is interested in finding the connections between the factors that are related to knowledge acquisition and skills challenges faced in the BIM construction projects. Her research is mainly focused on BIM technology, however it is expected that the results will be applicable to any new technology that comes into construction practice. She is currently in her third year, and is supervised by Dr Niraj Thurairajah and Prof Melvyn Lees.
