Michalis is a passionate Human Resource Management (HRM) and Organisational Behaviour (OB) enthusiast with a dual focus on academia and industry. His Ph.D. research delved into the retention of professional chefs, utilising the Repertory Grid Technique.
His academic journey began with studies in Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Psychology, majoring in Psychology. Fascinated by the intricate interplay between self and society, he later pursued postgraduate studies in Organizational Analysis and Behaviour, gaining insights into the multifaceted expressions of human behaviour within diverse organisational contexts.
With three decades of experience, Michalis has navigated the realms of multinational organisations, HRM consultancy, and academia. His consultancy work, spanning international projects in Europe and the USA, primarily centres around the hospitality industry.
His expertise lies in Management by Assessments, Employee Selection, Retention and Engagement Strategies, Performance Management, and HRM Strategy. As an Authorised Partner of PXTSelect by Wiley for the UK, he brings cutting-edge assessment tools to organisational settings.
In higher education since 2000, Michalis has left a mark on UK and European institutions. His teaching excellence has gathered awards and praises, while his active research pursuits contribute to the field. He also serves as an external examiner for Birkbeck, University of London (Le Cordon Bleu, Culinary Industry Management) and Loughborough University (BSc in Management).
Beyond academia, Michalis enjoys exploring culinary delights (especially baking), basketball, playing music, and travelling to …warm world destinations.
