Dr Olga Kampaxi
Dr. Olga Kampaxi holds a PhD in Psychology from Bristol University, UK. Olga is currently working for Birmingham City University as Senior Lecturer and Course Leader, managing more than 700 students. She is also the Employability Lead for the BDTE College.
Olga’s previous roles included: Lecturer at University College Birmingham, and Area Director of Human Resources – UAE for Rotana Hotels. Prior to that, Olga spent three years with Jumeirah Group at The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management and worked for a short period of time with Dubailand as Senior Talent Manager. She has also worked in Qatar for InterContinental Hotel Group as Director of HR.
Other roles included the position of Researcher for the E-Commerce department in a direct marketing company based in Bristol, UK where later on she moved to Airbus UK where she was employed as a project coordinator for Intranet and other enterprise communications projects. In 2000, she returned to Greece to work as an HR Manager for an IT company, UniSystems.
Olga has also facilitated two re-engineering projects; she worked for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games as a Regional Staffing Manager, and some of the companies she has worked with as a consultant and/or trainer on a variety of subjects such as Coaching and Team Integration, include Siemens, Motor Oil, Swissport Hellas, Médecins sans Frontiers and others.
Among other success stories, Olga was recognized with an award for her contribution to the Future Leaders Program organized by the Dubai Ethics Resource Center. She has also received an HR Leadership Award awarded by Asia’s Best Employer Brand Awards 2011. Most recently she was awarded a teaching award in the category: Student Experience, as nominated by students themselves. Olga is also the Chair of Governors for Ninestiles Academy.
