Dr Libby Carter
Dr Libby Carter is a Lecturer on the Event, Venue and Experience Management and Global Sport Management courses at Birmingham City University. She holds a PhD from Coventry University in the area of Mega Event Ceremony Social Legacy. Before joining the business school Libby taught at Coventry University within the Sport and Event Management department throughout her three year PhD. Her current research interests are in the areas of social legacy of events, the use of narrative in events to change behaviour and the antecedents of social legacy.
Her research has been published in Legacies and Mega Events – Facts or Fairy Tales and has journal articles under review at Event Management. Recently, Libby has won the 2019 Doctoral Competition for Conceptual Articles award from AMS Review for her work on social media as a distraction to social legacy.
