Chrisa is a Senior Lecturer in Forensic Psychology, a Chartered Psychologist, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She joined Birmingham City University in 2013 and she teaches on the MSc Forensic Psychology and the BSc Psychology courses. Chrisa is mainly working on research projects that relate to interpersonal violence and aggression.
Chrisa has worked with the Greek Police as a Police Psychologist. During that time, she was trained in Crisis (hostage) Negotiations and acted as a consultant in various incidents working with the Police’s negotiators team. She was also a Psychology Lecturer at the Hellenic Police Academy.
Before pursuing a career in Forensic Psychology, Chrisa completed an applied MSc in Cognitive Psychology and Neuropsychology and worked in various clinical settings with patients with neurodegenerative diseases. She also worked in European collaborative studies on the early diagnosis, and the development and validation of new biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease.
