Our careers fairs and employer events present you with a platform to promote your vacancies, build brand awareness and meet future talent.
Throughout the academic year, we run a range of careers fairs and employer events all designed to connect employers with student and graduate talent.
Our fairs include:
- Part-Time Jobs Fair
- Black Business Marketplace
- The Big Careers Fair*
- Graduate Jobs and Placement Fair
- Women in Business Fair
- Arts, Design and Media Faculty event

Careers Fairs
In 2023, our Autumn Careers Fair welcomed around 1600 students and graduates.
For the 2024/25 academic year, we are pleased to announce the dates for the following fairs:
- Part-Time Jobs Fair: Wednesday 9 October 2024
- The Big Careers Fair: Tuesday 29 October 2024
- Graduate Jobs and Placement Fair: Tuesday 18 February 2025
Why attend our careers fairs and events?
At Birmingham City University, there are around 31,000 students from 100 countries.
We welcome a diverse student population each year and have around 67 percent commuter students and 64 percent from non-white backgrounds.
Our students are taught by industry professionals, giving them both the skills and insight to succeed in their chosen career path.
Our careers fairs and events provide an excellent platform for employers to promote their vacancies, build brand awareness and connect with talented students and graduates. You can meet a diverse student population, many of whom stay and work in the West Midlands after graduation.
Additionally, our students are taught by industry professionals, ensuring they have the skills and insight to succeed in their chosen career path.

What's included in your booking
Included within your booking will be:
- Access to on-campus facilities such as cafes
- Lunch and refreshments covered for two delegates
- One table and two chairs
- Access to power on request
- Free guest Wi-Fi
- Business name listed on internal communications for students, targeted emails and print materials
How to register
If you have an account on our Careers portal, you can follow the link above for the careers fair(s) you are interested in registering for and log in to your account to complete your registration.
For those who do not have an account, you will need to create this first and then complete your booking. If you do not receive confirmation within five working days, please email employment@bcu.ac.uk and a member of the team will investigate this for you.
Important changes
Due to the size and new location of the Big Careers Fair in Autumn, we do now charge for stands. This is in line with other universities both locally and nationally.
- Charity and 3rd Sector: £75+VAT
- SME Organisations: £120+VAT
- Large Organisations: £250+VAT
Our terms and conditions
Only one booking per organisation will be accepted with a limit of up to four representatives per business.
Completion of booking request does not guarantee attendance. Please refer to our full terms and conditions which will be sent during the booking process.
