Dr David Walton
David is course leader for BSc (Hons) Game Programming at the BCU Games Academy, and leads the Computer Graphics and Games Programming courses, in addition to participating in research as part of the Games and Graphics group.
David began work at BCU in 2023, teaching on a range of courses related to graphics and high-performance programming on games and computing courses. In addition to teaching, David engages with research and industry engagement, collaborating within the department and with external academic and industrial partners.
Prior to starting at BCU, David worked as a postdoctoral researcher at UCL, focusing on new perceptual graphics and display technologies extending the concept of foveated rendering for higher efficiency and rendering quality.
This followed on from working as a research engineer at Imagination Technologies, a Graphics Card design company based in Kings Langley, focusing on novel applications for their graphics and AI hardware. This followed on from a successful EngD project collaborating between UCL and Imagination, with a focus on enhanced AR rendering techniques.
