Dr Javidroozi is currently an associate professor specialising in Smart City Systems and Information Systems Engineering (ISE). His research endeavours encompass a diverse array of projects, notably the development of a business process-centric framework for smart cities, known as "FABS", integrating principles from systems engineering, systems thinking, and critical realism to address complex urban challenges.
Additionally, he spearheads initiatives involving innovative technologies like AI/ML, aiming to revolutionise urban living, enterprise systems, and supply chain management. As the co-leader of the Smart, Sustainable, and Green (SSG) cities research theme and working group at BCU, he leads collaborative efforts in research, publication, and enterprise projects within these domains. He actively seeks research opportunities and grants, leveraging his expertise to drive impactful outcomes. Concurrently, he contributes to MSc and BSc courses by delivering lectures on Digital Transformation, enterprise systems, business processes, and information systems.
He obtained a BSc in Computer Science in 2009. He also acquired his MSc in Enterprise Systems Management with distinction in 2012. During and after his MSc, he conducted several research projects mainly in the domain of systems engineering, enterprise systems, and systems integration.
He has also been awarded an SAP ERP associate consultant certificate and currently working as an SAP Account Manager and SAP ERP tutor at BCU. In addition, he is a LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Certified Facilitator. This provides him with an exciting opportunity to utilise his facilitation skills for teaching, research, and consultancies.
As a career academic, all the work he has done across systems engineering, smart city development, enterprise systems, and information systems contexts, link in one way or another to improving the integration of people, processes, and technology to support well-being and enhance the quality of life at all levels; as well as to inspire students and colleagues to broaden their understanding and knowledge of these domains. Many insights from his earlier research and industrial experience inform his future work in information systems and the smart city domain with the relevant and up-to-date knowledge that makes a difference to the quality of other smart city related research.
His interest in Higher Education includes research, teaching, and management in the subjects related to Smart City, Information Systems, Digital Transformation, Business Process Change, and systems integration.
