Dr Ilnaz Ashayeri is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader in Construction Management at Birmingham City University (BCU). With a PhD in Construction from Heriot-Watt University, she is an accomplished researcher and educator, with extensive experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sectors. Dr. Ashayeri also holds an MSc (Hons) in Architectural Engineering from the Polytechnic of Milan and a BSc in Architectural Engineering from Imam Khomeini International University.

Over the past 15 years, Dr. Ashayeri has built a distinguished career, working as an Architect, Architectural Technologist, Construction Manager, and BIM Specialist. Her expertise spans both academia and industry, with a research focus on the integration of Digital Technologies in AEC, Off-site Construction, Modular Building, Timber Structures, and Building Information Modelling (BIM).

As Course Leader, she leads the Construction Management program at BCU, while actively contributing to research in cutting-edge construction technologies. Dr. Ashayeri is a passionate member of the AEC community and an active member of professional bodies such as CIAT, RIBA, and CIOB.

1. Architectural Designer in New Wave Architecture consultant company (2014-2019). Acting as one of the Designers for the development of concepts, generation of plans and delivering technical-related aspects of the building process

Engaging with the project team to ensure the quality of design and time scale being met
Ad-hoc Consultancy for delivering concept design with a focus on Health Centres, Hospitals, Universities, Massive Residence and Offices
Named as part of the Design Team of several world award-winning projects such as; Winner of Best Hospital of The Year in WAF 2017 (For Pars Hospital of Rasht), and winner of SARA NY Award 2016 (For Mosha Villa/three-view a house), a finalist in the Large Residence Building category in WAF 2018 (For Meygoon residence), finalist of Modern Offices in WAF 2017 (For Turbolance building)
