Mustafa Al-Adhami is an architect, researcher, and lecturer in the Digital Built Environment at Birmingham City University, with a specialisation in digital architecture and sustainability. With over a decade of experience in BIM, computer modelling, simulation, VR/AR, reality-capturing technologies, and the Internet of Things.
Throughout his academic career, Mustafa has held teaching and research positions at the University of Huddersfield and Nottingham Trent University, where he has delivered courses in architecture and the built environment to undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
As a researcher, Mustafa has been involved in a variety of projects related to design, asset management, and advanced surveying techniques, using cutting-edge technologies such as VR/AR, IoT, and Machine Learning. He also worked as a research KTP associate to develop a semi-automated solution for digitising railway bridges using BIM.
In addition to his academic and research experience, Mustafa has worked in the AEC industry for several UK and Middle Eastern companies. He has been responsible for developing design and construction documents, creating high-realistic architectural visualisations, conducting building condition surveys, producing technical drawings, supporting the development of requests for proposals for different types of buildings and managing information exchange protocols and project delivery.
