Dr. Sid Ahmed Ouldja is a Lecturer in Digital Built Environment and Course Lead for BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology at Birmingham City University. He holds a PhD from Loughborough University's School of Architecture, Civil & Building Engineering (2016-2021), an MSc in Sustainable Building Engineering from the University of Greenwich (2014-2015), and a MArch from Université Saad Dahlab Blida, Algeria (2007-2012).
Dr. Ouldja has extensive academic experience, having served as Assistant Lecturer at Loughborough University (2016-2019), Associate Lecturer in Building Information Management at De Montfort University (2019-2022), and Associate Lecturer in Building Performance Engineering/BIM at Northampton University (2021-2022), before taking up his current position at Birmingham City University in 2022.
His industry experience includes involvement in the NEOM Masterplan in Saudi Arabia, focusing on BEP - Clash detection strategy at C&D. He also developed a Pre-stressed reinforced concrete offsite factory in collaboration with EBAWE Progress Group (2018-2020).
Dr. Ouldja's research interests lie in the areas of Building Information Modeling (BIM), energy-efficient building design, and the impact of architects' tacit reasoning on design decision-making.
