Dr Hadi Nabipour Afrouzi

Dr. Hadi is a distinguished academic and engineer with a comprehensive background in electronic and electrical engineering. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Engineering in 2005 from Iran, followed by a Master of Electrical Engineering (2011) and a PhD (2015) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Dr. Hadi is a registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and holds the status of Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia.

Dr. Hadi spearheads projects related to sustainable energy and environmental solutions. His research focuses on Renewable Energy, including system sizing, optimization, and hybrid systems, as well as high voltage engineering, particularly the partial discharge phenomenon and fault modelling in high voltage insulators. His scholarly work includes numerous journal papers, conference papers, book chapters, and technical articles published in prestigious, high-ranked journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus.

Dr. Hadi has also made significant contributions to the academic community as an Editorial Board member and reviewer for national and international conferences and journals. He has delivered keynote talks at international conferences on topics such as renewable energy and electric vehicle waste, further establishing his expertise in these areas.

He completed a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (Higher Education) from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. From 2017 to 2024, Dr. Hadi served as a Senior Lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology (Sarawak Campus), where he was also the Head of the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering from 2020 to 2024. During his tenure, he successfully led the program through an accreditation exercise under Engineers Australia and enhanced lab facilities for renewable energy. Dr. Hadi has been actively involved in faculty and university service, including roles as the Research Education Advisor, a member of the Faculty Research Committee, the Staff Recreation Committee (SRC), and the Student Progress Review Committee.
