A Laugh Supreme brings together the best of comedy and jazz in the incredible Eastside Jazz Club.

Hosted by Alex Milner, this month’s show sees comedians Dee Allum* and Eric Rushton join top-ranking jazz musicians from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, the Aidan Pope Quartet.

*Please note change to original line up: Dee Allum will now perform instead of Maria Shehata.

Dee Allum

Dee Allum is an award-winning stand-up comedian and writer.

Dee has been nominated for Best Newcomer at the Chortle Awards, placed as runner up in the Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year award 2021, won the 2Northdown New Act Competition 2021 and was a finalist in the 2022 BBC New Comedy Award competition.

Dee took her debut solo stand up show, Deadname, to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2024 to wide critical acclaim, receiving reviews such as: “A story of gender identity told with panache, charm, self-deprecation and copious wit…an inventive, casually ironic storytelling skill…a true stand-up.” ★★★★ The Times

She has also starred in ITV’s The Stand Up Sketch Show.

Eric Rushton

"Gloriously and unpretentiously daft" - Rolling Stone Magazine

Birmingham based Eric has won the prestigious Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and was the first recipient of the Channel 4 Sean Lock Comedy Award, making him one of Stone, Staffordshire’s top 5 comedy heroes.

His hilarious first special “Not that Deep” was released in 2023, and after a sold out and critically acclaimed run at Edinburgh Fringe  2024, the future looks very bright for a comedian who’s demeanour would never accept such an outlook so positive.
