A Laugh Supreme brings together the best of comedy and jazz in the incredible Eastside Jazz Club.

Hosted by Alex Milner, this month’s show sees comedians Maria Shehata and Eric Rushton join top-ranking jazz musicians from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, the Aidan Pope Quartet.

Maria Shehata

“I Love Maria Shehata. She is funny on and off stage and always has original material. I think she is a truly unique comedian and I miss watching her work.” - Bill Burr

Multi-award winning Maria Shehata brings her exceptional talent, quick wit, and effortlessly engaging stage presence to A Laugh Supreme in April.

Maria has appeared on Live at the Apollo,  Comedy Central’s The Watch List and Comedy Central Live, Dave Channel’s Comedy Guide To Life, and Showtime’s Bridging the Gap.

Maria has supported Bill Burr, Aziz Ansari, and Jonathan Pie in London’s West End, and shortlisted as one of the Five Best New Acts at the Edinburgh Fringe.

She is co-host of the weekly comedy podcast 2 Non Doctors with NYC based comedian Liz Miele.

Eric Rushton

"Gloriously and unpretentiously daft" - Rolling Stone Magazine

Birmingham based Eric has won the prestigious Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and was the first recipient of the Channel 4 Sean Lock Comedy Award, making him one of Stone, Staffordshire’s top 5 comedy heroes.

His hilarious first special “Not that Deep” was released in 2023, and after a sold out and critically acclaimed run at Edinburgh Fringe  2024, the future looks very bright for a comedian who’s demeanour would never accept such an outlook so positive.
