Formed in 2024, the Vagabundo Trio brings together French violinist Luanah Lefebvre, Chinese cellist Gen Li, and Spanish pianist Maria Linares, who met at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and bonded over a shared performance of Chausson’s Concert0 Op.21, which initiated their path as an ensemble.
The name "Vagabundo," meaning "wanderer" in Spanish, reflects the trio’s diverse cultural backgrounds and strong distinct personalities. Between them, they have garnered prestigious awards, including the Leamington Music Prize, Musician’s Company Award, Harrison Frank Foundation Award and Myra Hess HelpMusicians Award.
In addition to performing, the trio is committed to music education. Vagabundo Trio recently provided piano trio coaching with Young Sounds, the UK’s Attune chamber music programme, sharing their expertise and passion with the next generation of musicians.

This concert takes place before the CBSO performance of Mendelssohn and Brahms at 2.15pm.
