Changes to Postgraduate Law Courses

The pathway to the legal profession is changing.

As of August 2021 you will no longer need to complete an accredited Common Professional Exam course, such as those previously run by the School of Law at Birmingham City University:

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL)
  • LLM Professional Law

Instead you will be required to complete both stages of the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE).

Our new LLM Legal Practice course is designed to prepare you for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE 1) by utilising our excellent legal expertise and providing a unique mix of study and real-world experience.

Whether you have a first degree in law or any other subject or discipline, this course is perfect for anyone wanting to be a legal practitioner and develop their legal knowledge and skills.
