Canis Kamran

Canis joined the BCU team in September 2023.

Prior to starting the role as senior lecturer, she worked as an Assistant Head teacher for several years where she worked across a range of schools as part of a multi academy trust. She has had experience of leading a range of subject areas and teams during her time as a school leader.

Her role as a safeguarding lead and lead for PSHE increased her interest in supporting young people with their mental wellbeing. Her research focuses on the implications of social media use and mental wellbeing.

Canis currently teaches on a range of modules for Primary PGCE and BA in Primary and Early years Education. She is also the year lead for the first year associate teachers.
