David is the Course Lead for BSc (Hons) Qualified Habilitation Specialist. David has also been the Course Lead for the Foundation Degree in Rehabilitation Work (Vision Impairment) and the BSc (Hons) Specialist Complex Needs Rehabilitation Work top up degree.

David studied at the Guide Dogs School of Vision and Rehabilitation Studies. After qualifying, he worked as a Qualified Rehabilitation Specialist for Warwickshire Vision Support. His role included providing specialist assessment and delivering high level rehabilitation and orientation and mobility training for sight impaired and severely sight impaired individuals.

In 2007, David started working for Coventry City Council as Senior Rehabilitation Worker. At this point, he was already teaching Orientation and Mobility and Daily Living Skills as a visiting lecturer at BCU. In September of 2008, David joined the rehabilitation work team at BCU as a Senior Lecturer/Placement Coordinator. In 2012, David became the Course Lead.

David was instrumental in the creation of the top up degrees delivered at BCU and the Rehabilitation Work Higher Education Apprenticeship, recognising and initiating the development of the Trailblazer group that created the original Rehabilitation Work Standard.

David is the module coordinator for the Vision Rehabilitation Specialist Orientation and Mobility modules. David also delivers the Professional Rehabilitation Work Practice module for the Foundation Degree and the Professional Practice and Placement module for the BSc (Hons) Qualified Habilitation Specialist course.
