Dr. Masoud Mohammadnezhad
Dr Masoud Mohammadnezhad graduated with a BSc in Public Health Nursing and an MSc in Health Promotion before he was awarded his PhD in Public Health from Flinders University in Australia. He has more than 24 years’ experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Australia, the UK, Cyprus, Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand, Fiji and Iran. During the last 24 years, he has been working as an academic in a variety of educational settings and has held several positions such as lecturer, senior lecturer, assistant professor, associate professor and full professor.
The main characteristics of his research activities involve interdisciplinary research; developing research leadership and creativity; working with communities; securing grants; and inspiring student learning with a research-intensive approach. He has a strong record of supervising research students and conducting research with 20 PhD students and 170 master students. He has published more than 180 papers in high quality peer-reviewed journals and has also presented at more than 60 national and international conferences. He has proud to have obtained a number of the best publication awards as well as outstanding achiever award from the University Vice-chancellor in 2023.
He contributed to editorial boards of a range of global peer review journals. He has reviewed more than 3000 articles for high-ranked journals such as Wiley, Elsevier, Springer, BMC, Frontiers and PLoS ONE journals. He was a member of different international associations such as the Public Health Association of Australia, Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG), Australian Population Association (APA), and American Psychological Association (APA).
He has substantial experience in leadership and management positions from entry level through university level. His leadership experience ranges from the Head of Department, Professional lead of public health, Chairman of school research committee, Member of college ethics committee, Member of Higher degree committee, Member of examination committee, Member of Faculty quality enhancement committee, Member of school and faculty teaching and learning committees.
