Paul Atkinson

Paul studied Ancient History and Archaeology at the University of Birmingham to degree level and subsequently worked in archaeology for a few years. Following a period of unemployment he started work in the learning resources dept in the Birmingham College of Nursing (East Birmingham Hospital) and then subsequently at the College of Nursing and Midwifery (Dudley road hospital) as Media Resources Officer. The college was absorbed by UCE in 1995 and Paul moved to Westbourne road as part of the Faculty of Health. He completed an MA in Visual Communication in 1997 (part-time at BIAD) and then was able to offer specialized services in design for print, graphics and photography. He became part of the Technical team of HELS as a ‘Learning Technologies Technician’ following a restructuring in 2016 (providing the same services).
