Chloë joined Birmingham City University as a Lecturer in April 2021. Chloë is the module lead for the Working with Children and Families module on the Foundations of Social Work course and is co-leading on the Theories and Methods module for the BSc (Hons) Social Work year 2 module. Chloë is also the Academic Lead for Resiliency providing ongoing support across the BSc and MSc programmes, for students to develop their personal and professional resiliency in readiness for social work practice.
Prior to training as a Social Worker Chloë studied Performing Arts at De Montfort University, Bedford (1996) where she developed an interest in the Theatre practices of Augustus Boal and his Theatre of the Oppressed. Chloë adapted Forum Theatre and Image Theatre skills within her role as a freelance trainer for workshops and conferences and is looking forward to developing these practices further, at Birmingham City University, to support students with developing their core social work skills in preparation for practice placement.
