Rebecca Govan

Rebecca has worked with people all of her adult life either as a volunteer, support worker or social worker. Rebecca’s focus has been social work with adults and particularly older people with experience in mental capacity, safeguarding and joint working with health colleagues.

More recently having become an adopter and discovered first hand the challenges of supporting her child with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) she has commenced her PhD. This research will focus on social work support post adoption with families with a child with FASD. Rebecca also teaches within the Social Work Department bringing lived and professional experience to the students.
