Dr. Ramadas is a passionate engineer, entrepreneur, and educator dedicated to advancing the field of ultrasonic instrumentation, with a special interest towards developing advanced transducers/systems with predictive analytics capabilities.
With a distinguished career encompassing numerous leadership roles, Dr. Ramadas has left a significant mark in the industry, working with renowned companies such as Tata, Elster Metering Limited and Honeywell across India, Belgium, Germany, and the UK. He also co-founded a pioneering startup “Hy-Met Limited” in the UK, focused on developing instrumentation and software solutions that enable the energy transition.
During his time in industry, Dr. Ramadas was also an honorary visiting academic & a Marie Curie Research Fellow at University of Warwick, UK (2011-2021). Prior to this, Nishal held post-doctoral positions at universities in the UK (ISVR-Southampton University & CUE-Strathclyde University).
Dr. Ramadas has a proven track record in attracting funding, publishing his research work at high impact journals/conferences/invited talks (50+ in total) and holds key patents in his area of interest.
Dr. Ramadas is an active member of IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control Society (IEEE-UFFC, USA), Indian Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ISNT, India) and previously held committee roles in Institute of Materials, Mineral & Mining (IOM3) & Flow Measurement Institute both in the UK. Currently, he is part of the technical program committee for IEEE-IUS (a premier international annual ultrasonic conference) & recently helped organise the 1st IEEE South Asian Ultrasonic Symposium in Gujarat-India.
