Undergraduate
Brunei/Cambridge General Certificate GCE O Level Grade A – C PLUS Cambridge GCE A Level equivalent to 112 – 128 UCAS points. BDTVEC (Higher National Diploma / National Diploma) can be considered for advanced entry. BA Common Year 1 from Laksamana College of Business can be considered for entry to Year 2 of Business courses (no module below 40%). Successful completion of Foundation from Birmingham City University International College (BCUIC). International Baccalaureate Diploma 28 – 30 points.
Faculty of Art, Design and Media (ADM):
Most undergraduate courses in the Art and Design schools require a good portfolio of artwork.
Business School:
All Business School undergraduate Year 1 courses require a minimum mathematics grade of C at O Level or the equivalent.
Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment (CEBE):
All undergraduate courses in the CEBE faculty require Mathematics at O Level. However, Mathematics is required at A Level minimum Grade C or the equivalent for the Engineering suite and BEng Telecommunication and Networks.
Postgraduate
A Bachelor (Honours) Degree with Second Class Honours (Lower)/GPA 3.0/ C+.
Some postgraduate courses require a subject-specific undergraduate degree to qualify for entry, for example, Law, Computing, Social Sciences, Engineering, etc. Please check the relevant course page for this information.
Faculty of Art, Design and Media (ADM):
Some postgraduate courses require a portfolio, others require a proposal of studies, while some courses require both a portfolio and a proposal of studies.
International Foundation Programme
If you don’t meet the entry requirements, you can study an International Foundation Programme to be eligible for entry to study with us. Our foundation programmes are delivered through Birmingham City University International College.
English language requirements
IELTS 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in each band score). Please note that some courses require a higher IELTS score.
