Rebecca is currently focusing on developments in inter-American human rights system jurisprudence on abortion access, most notably the Salvadoran Manuela case. She is also developing work for publication on SRHRs in the international and regional human rights systems.
As a postdoctoral research assistant to Dr Jamila Mascat, Utrecht University, Rebecca is helping to prepare a consortium grant application on Postcolonial Justice in Postcolonial Europe for Horizon Europe.
In January 2022, Rebecca was awarded a BLSS Start-Up Grant to fund the research project Breaking down Barriers: Supporting students with disabilities in the transition from further to higher education. This project will run in collaboration with BCU Law student Rajun Dhami from September 2022.
Rebecca welcomes proposals for postgraduate research in international human rights law, particularly proposals focused on women’s human rights, LGBTQ* rights, and those which make use of critical theories such as feminist legal theory, decolonial theory, and Third World Approaches to International Law. She encourages applications from students from underrepresented groups, and she will do her utmost to provide them with a welcoming and supportive academic environment.

Rebecca completed an internship at the European Union’s External Action Service in 2016, working on Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.
