Dr Andrii Zharikov, Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University

Andrii is a Lecturer in Law at Nottingham Trent University. His teaching focus is on modules such as International Banking Law and Commercial Law. Before joining NTU, Andrii was a fully funded Aston scholar and his doctoral thesis was entitled “The Case for a New Branch of Lex Mercatoria in Trade Finance: A Dispute Resolution Perspective.” He is now working on publishing his thesis as a monograph. He has authored a number of theoretical and practical-oriented articles in the areas of his expertise, including his winning entry in the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Young Members Essay Competition 2018. Prior to his career in academia, Andrii practised law in Ukraine with several local law firms where he was involved in various projects in banking and finance, international trade, dispute resolution and corporate law. Andrii is a member of several professional bodies, including the Higher Education Academy, the Society of Legal Scholars, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Young Members Group.

Professor Ricardo Perlingeiro, Professor of International Private Law at Fluminense Federal University, Brazil

Ricardo is a Professor of International Private Law at Fluminense Federal University in Brazil as well as a judge of the federal appellate court with jurisdiction over administrative cases. He holds a PhD on “The Effectiveness of foreign and international adjudication under domestic law.” His research focus lies in the area of international legal cooperation and international procedural law, including aspects of commercial law. Before becoming a Professor in 2003, he was an Associate Professor of Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Law. Ricardo is also an Associate Professor at Estacio de Sa University, Brazil, as well as a visiting Professor at Birmingham City University and a visiting researcher at the University of Porto, Portugal. In the past, he was a visiting scholar at universities in Beijing (China), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Malaga (Spain), Pavia (Italy), Kobe (Japan) and Reading. He is a member of several international scholarly associations such as the International Academy of Comparative Law, the International Association of Procedural Law, the American Association of Private International Law and the Ibero-American Institute of Procedural Law, where he acted as Secretary-General of the Committee which developed the Model Code of Interjurisdictional Cooperation for Ibero-America.

Professor Rainer Schackmar, Professor of Business Law at Schmalkalden University, Germany

Rainer is a Professor (Chair) of Business Law in the Faculty of Business Law at Schmalkalden University in Germany. His research interests lie in international trade law (i.e. CISG), the Incoterms® by the ICC, the Conflict of Laws/Private International Law as well as international insolvency law. He acts as Arbitrator in International Arbitration Proceedings and is the Scientific Director of the course “Specialist in International Business Law” for German barristers at the German Institute of German Barristers. Rainer passed the two legal state examinations in Germany and practised as a German barrister and solicitor in a large law firm before his career in academia. He has held several Visiting Professorships at universities in the UK, USA, France, Finland and Romania. He is currently working on a monograph on cross-border transactions in international law.

Mr Kshitij Bansal, Assistant Professor at Jindal Global, India

Kshitij Bansal is an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School in India. He works in the areas of International Trade Law and Climate Change Governance. His most recent work was the April 2019 edition of the Jindal Global Law Review where he was a Special Editor, along with former Stanford Law professor Armin Rosencranz. He is currently writing a book, tentatily titled Graduate Lectures on Indian Environmental Law. He has practiced with then India’s largest law firm, Amarchand Mangaldass in Mumbai prior to joining academia. He has delivered lectures and courses at the lectures and courses at the University of Hobart, Queen Mary University London, Nottingham Trent University, the University of East Anglia Norwich, and the Siberian Federal University Kranoyark. He is the Founding President of the International Policy Analysis Network (IPAN), Asia’s first youth-led public policy think tank.

Catalin-Gabriel Stanescu, Assistant Professor at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark

Catalin is an Assistant Professor and a Marie Curie Fellow with the Group for Market and Economic Law at the University of Copenhagen. His research interests lie in the area of international business law, consumer protection law and debt collection and his current research focuses on enterprise liability in connection to concession agreements as well as abusive debt collection practices.

Dr Luminița Tuleașcă, Professor of Commercial Law at the Romanian American University Bucharest, Romania

Luminita is Professor of Commercial Law at the Romanian American University Bucharest where she teaches Commercial Law, Company Law, International Trade Law and Insolvency Law. A seasoned lawyer and arbitrator, she founded her own law firm in 1996. She is an Arbitrator of the International Commercial Arbitration Court attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and of the Court of Arbitration of the Bucharest Bar. She is the author of six books and over 50 studies and articles and is a member of the editorial board of the Romanian Journal of Business Law. She is also the associate editor of the international journal Romanian Economic and Business Review and member of several professional associations such as the British Institute of International and Comparative Law; the Society of Legal Scholars; the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Professionals; the Professional Association for European Restructuring and Insolvency Specialists; and INSOL International.
