A poetry journal founded and edited by MA Creative Writing graduates has been reviewed in the Times Literary Supplement.
Poetry Birmingham Literary Journal was founded last year by MA Creative Writing graduates Naush Sabah and Suna Afshan. It was launched at The Woodman, and is released quarterly to coincide with the seasons. Now on its fifth issue, the journal has been going from strength to strength, including diversifying its content to feature nearly forty poets, alongside reviews and feature articles covering a range of topics.
The Journal is published under Naush and Suna’s small press, Pallina Press.
The review in the Times Literary Supplement commends their “intellectually lithe and provocative editorials”, complemented by an “impressive spread of poetry” and an “incisive and dynamic critical section”. Read the full review here.
As well as this, Suna and Naush are both published poets, with pamphlets of their poetry published by Broken Sleep Books this year.
