Over 1.4 million children and young people in the UK have communication difficulties and many are unable to access the support they need, leading to a demand to improve services in order to improve their lives.

As well as featuring in local newspapers, Gillian has received extensive support on social media for the Bercow report, including from English actress and television presenter Sally Phillips, Councillor Olly Armstong and the CEO of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy, Kamini Gadhok.

“I am absolutely thrilled that the petition has already secured over 10,700 signatures", said Gillian.

"I have been humbled by the dedication people across the United Kingdom have shown in raising awareness and securing signatures. It’s been fantastic to see and I am very grateful to everyone who has delivered this great result.
