Birmingham City University is providing business support to local SMEs across priority growth clusters specified in the West Midlands Plan for Growth, with a particular emphasis on the creative industry, digital, transport technology and low-carbon sectors. This is part of an innovation programme to strengthen the regional economy and opportunities for levelling up.
Key Aims
- Drive business growth through product diversification and new production development
- Create an environment that supports SMEs to create new products and services to meet existing and future customer demand.
- Provide an enabling environment for co-creation, to enable inter-disciplinary working for example the provision of co-working spaces and facilities.
- Provide technical support and expertise to help frame market opportunities.• Facilitate the development of prototypes as Minimal Viable Products (MVPs) through access to facilities to enable production.
- Connect businesses to the wider business support network and facilitate introductions to investors and investor vehicles.
