Research in this area is carried out in our Faculty of Arts, Design and Media, specifically in our schools of Art, Architecture, Fashion Textiles and 3D Design, Jewellery and Visual Communication. We have a world-leading research environment for the study, innovation and public dissemination of contemporary fine art, architecture, design and visual culture.

To underpin this, we have the following research platforms:
- Jewellery Industry Innovation Centre (JIIC)
- Centre for Chinese Visual Arts
- Design Knowledge Network (DKN)
- Eastside Projects, ARTicle and International Project Space galleries.
