The Centre for Human Rights “Consultancy” provides legal advice and report drafting for political regions, individual governments, nongovernmental organisations, and wider civil society stakeholders.
The CHR’s academics and legal practitioners regularly engage with the UN's Universal Periodic Review (UPR), have worked with the Sudanese Human Rights Initiative (SHRI) to promote access to justice, the Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions for the abolition of the death penalty in Myanmar, and we consulted for the European Commission on the creation of the internal policies for the EU abolition of the death penalty, and the external project to promote this aim globally. In 2020, we began a project on human rights in The Gambia, with the National Human Rights Commission, The Gambia, and The University of The Gambia School of Law.
