In this session, we hear from Maria Eduarda Oliveira. Maria is a BCU PhD student currently working on her thesis: "Portugal and the Universal Periodic Review: The United Nations Principles on Human Trafficking". Her presentation is based on her preparation for her chapter focused on analysing the law around human trafficking

Title: Sex Trafficking in Portugal
Abstract:
Human Trafficking and sexual exploitation through human rights law: an assessment of international and regional law and why a victim's rights approach is the most suitable, reflecting on the developments from the Council of Europe Trafficking Convention and its regulating mechanism, GRETA and the EU's Directive 2011/36/EU.
