Birmingham City University to host summer of research events
Birmingham City University PhD students will get the chance to showcase their research this summer, with a series of exciting events set to take place across the University in July.
Present your work
RESFEST, taking place from Tuesday 2 – Wednesday 3 July, offers postgraduate researchers (PGRs) from across all four faculties the opportunity to present their work. The theme for this year’s event is ‘transforming the future’, with PhD students encouraged to submit work based around the associated themes of people, places, policy and practice. PGRs can present their work via either a 15-minute presentation, a poster or a three-minute soapbox presentation.
Research excellence – all summer long
RESFEST kicks off an exciting two weeks of research-related events, including:
- Tuesday 2 July – the Centre for Social Care, Health and Related Research are hosting their annual conference, showcasing all of their research;
- Thursday 4 July – the University Learning and Teaching conference brings together staff and students from across the University to participate in activities that showcase innovation, with over 30 workshops scheduled for the day;
- Friday 5 July – ADM PGR Studio are also hosting their annual conference, with details to be announced shortly;
- Wednesday 10 July – Centre for the Study of Practice and Culture in Education’s conference will celebrate the co-production of knowledge in social practice.
The research events offer an amazing opportunity for PhD students to meet, network and explore opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaborations on research or enterprise initiatives. There will also be a prize for best presenter.
