Christian Moerken
Doctoral researcher
Christian's research focuses on the cultural value of the printed book in the age of digitization. Most research considering the book in the digital age focusses on the digitization of texts and on reading digital texts (Baron, 2017) or the economic consequences of the digitization of the book trade (Thompson 2013) but not the book as an object.
He explore how the cultural value of the printed book is affected by the digitization by looking at how producers of books (authors and publishers), Consumers of books (readers) and intermediaries (booksellers) value the book in the digital age.
