Daniel Blanco is Infinite Opera’s co-artistic director, composer and conductor. He has composed the physics dissemination opera “Entanglement! An Entropic Tale” and the operatic beer trilogy, “Besse”.

He is currently composing "The Flowering Desert", an opera about astrophysics in collaboration with the team that discovered the TRAPPIST-1 exo-planetary system.

As part of Infinite Opera, Daniel collaborates with University of Birmingham's PHYART@UoB project. He has also worked for theatrical productions and artistic installations across Europe, collaborating with directors such as Aleksandar Dundjerovic, Stephen Simms or Lise Olson. He also collaborates as a composer, workshop leader and conductor with the Welsh National Opera’s engagement programme in the Midlands.

Daniel also collaborates as orchestrator and arranger with professional ensembles and soloists in Spain such as Joan Enric Lluna, Moonwinds Ensemble or Cristina Montes; being often employed by the Godella Chamber Music Festival on the recovery of Valencia music patrimony.

Daniel studied Composition in Spain and in the UK, getting the Extraordinary Prize at Valencia Conservatoire and a BMus (First) and Masters (Distinction) at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (funded with a Leverhulme Arts Scholarship).

He is currently pursuing a PhD in Performing Arts at Birmingham City University as part of the Midlands4Cities Doctoral Programme.
