“You are safe and welcome here, you belong here, this is for and with and by you”

Location: The Old Library, Gibb Street, Digbeth, B9 4AT.

You are invited to Giving Voice… a safe space for those who are part of the Global Majority to voice their lived experiences and aspirations relating to “routes out” of the doctorate. There will be plenty of good food, good music, and opportunities to connect with other PGRs. The day will finish with a relaxation session.

Taking place on the 8th October, this event cultivates speculative spaces for your voice to be heard through a community and grassroots approach. It aims to be informal and fluid, reflecting a deliberate challenge to “the system” and top-down hierarchies.

We welcome you to join us if you are a doctoral Researcher and identify as Global Majority, defined as Black, Asian, Brown, dual-heritage, indigenous to the Global South, and/or being racialised as an “ethnic minority.”

For more information and to book your place please email: routesout-thatsme@bcu.ac.uk

This event is devised by Global Majority PGRs for current and completed Global Majority PGRs. It is part of the Routes Out workstream from the That’s Me! Eliminating Barriers to Postgraduate Research Study in the West Midlands.
