Angela is a Senior Lecturer in Health Psychology. She has worked in both Public Health and Health Psychology academically in the UK, and in practice as a Health Promotion Coordinator in Canada. She has a wealth of experience in engaging stakeholders in healthcare services evaluation, health promotion, and local decision-making to effect real-world change.

Angela’s research involves collaborating with multidisciplinary committees of clinicians, community health workers, recreation and fitness professionals, and non-governmental organisations to design and evaluate health services and initiatives. Other areas of interest include health inequalities across a variety of domains, with a particular emphasis on socioeconomic status and gender. She also has a keen interest in mental health promotion.

Angela has led master’s degree programs in Public Health and in Health Psychology. She has taught research methods and dissertation writing skills across universities and programs at undergraduate, postgraduate and staff levels.

Angela is the Director of the Health & Wellbeing Research Centre and is also the Business, Law and Social Sciences Faculty Academic Ethics Committee Chair.
