How to apply for BCU student accommodation
Before you can apply for accommodation at Birmingham City University, you’ll need to accept us as your firm or insurance choice. 24 hours after you’ve accepted your offer you can apply through our Accommodation Portal. All first-year, full-time home and international students are guaranteed University accommodation if they have firmly accepted an offer in the main application cycle and apply by the deadline date.

Choose your accommodation, pick up to 6 options and order them from most to least preferred.
Apply through the BCU accommodation portal
Accept your room, you'll get an email with the steps you need to follow.

How do I apply for accommodation?
You will need to know your choices of accommodation prior to making an application. If there are medical or mobility factors which have a bearing on your accommodation needs, please provide full details.

When will I know I have been allocated a room?
You will receive an email from Accommodation Services informing you that you have been offered a room, please ensure you accept and make the relevant payment required before the offer deadline date.

When will I be able to move in?
Before you can move into your accommodation, you will be asked to complete the online induction. You will receive an email with instructions on how to complete this process.

How much will the rent be per month?
Please see individual accommodation location pages for rent prices.

What if I don't have an Application Number?
Your University Application Number should be on your offer letter. It is made up of eight unique numbers. If it isn't on your offer letter, please contact Accommodation Services.
