Financial Assistance Fund
If you do struggle with money at university, we'll be there to help. Our Financial Assistance Fund is intended to help students experiencing financial difficulties and stop money worries impacting their studies.
Who can apply?
Applications are open to fully enrolled students at the University following a full-time or part-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught course, are of UK domicile and fall within certain priority groups.
You must be able to demonstrate a shortfall in funding impacting on your studies.
If you are in your final year, you must have a minimum of four weeks remaining on your course at the point of application to the Fund.
If you are an international student, postgraduate research student, or a student outside of the priority groups, you can apply but only if you have exceptional or emergency circumstances.
Some students are ineligible for support (see 5.0 of the Financial Assistance Fund Guidelines for full details).
How to apply
An eligibility, application and assessment process applies and is updated each academic year. As part of the application process, an assessment of your income and expenditure will be carried out.
If you are a current student and would like to apply, please visit our iCity site for the application form, full eligibility criteria and terms and conditions of the Fund.
