MA Musicology scholarships
£5,000 scholarship
MA Musicology at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire is awarding two £5,000 scholarships to applicants who apply to study the course in September 2025.
What will I receive?
Successful applicants for September 2025 will receive £5,000 towards the MA Musicology tuition fees. See MA Musicology course fees here.
Am I eligible?
Anyone who meets the entry criteria for the MA Musicology course is eligible to apply. The scholarships are available to both UK and international applicants who wish to study the course full-time or part-time in September 2025.
Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of:
- A clear and cogent dissertation project proposal, discussing the aims and scope of your project and showing some awareness of the context of activity and/or scholarship in your chosen field.
- A clear articulation of how the MA Musicology course will contribute to your career aspirations throughout the application process. This criteria will be evaluated on the basis of your written application for the MA Musicology and virtual interview, in which we can discuss your project ideas and career aspirations further.
When is the application deadline?
Applications submitted before Monday 28 April 2025 (12pm noon GMT) will be considered.
How do I apply?
You do not need to apply for the scholarship separately to the course. All applications for the MA Musicology course will be considered for the scholarship.
What happens next?
All applicants, who apply by 28 April (12pm noon GMT), will be invited to attend a virtual interview in May 2025. All applicants will be contacted after interview to confirm whether you have been successful or unsuccessful. The £5,000 scholarship will be deducted from successful applicants, so a reduced fee will be required in September 2025.
