Explore the Custard Factory

Just a short walk from the Bullring lies the Custard Factory. Originally the home of Bird’s instant custard, these Victorian factories have been beautifully restored, covered in artwork and fairy lights, and become the heart of the city’s creative quarter.

Home to many independent shops, restaurants and cafes, here are just a few of the delights in store when you visit the Custard factory.

Play

Formerly known as Ghetto Golf, it underwent a huge refurbishment in Summer 2022 and rebranded as Golf Fang. Boasting 18 holes inspired by pop culture in a ‘cathedral of graffiti’, this attraction is not to be missed.

Cinema

We couldn’t talk about the Custard factory without mentioning the legendary Mockingbird Cinema. It offers a unique cinematic experience with all-nighter movie marathons, bottomless brunches and a great selection of cult films.

Gaming

Board game lovers can while away an afternoon working through a collection of over 500 games accompanied by great food and drink at Chance and Counters.

If video games are more your style, look no further than NQ64. Described as “neon splattered drinking dens full of retro arcade games” and including a range of classic consoles to play on, there are both token based and free-to-play games on offer.

For a unique gaming experience, Matrix Virtual Reality lets you try out top-of-the-range computers and VR headsets, either for a fun night out or a trial run before investing in your own kit.

Shopping

With its iconic graffiti-clad entrance, Red Brick Market is not to be missed if you’re coming to the Custard Factory. With over 50 independents under one roof, you'll be supporting local businesses in this treasure trove of unique shops.

Food & drink
