Games

We are proud winners of the Excellence in Games Research Award at the TIGA UK Games Education Awards 2024.

Our range games courses allow you to specialise in Art, Design, Programming or Technology to gain skills and experience that the industry demands. We work in partnership with Unity and Unreal to develop critical, current, analytical and agile graduates.

We work in partnership with Unity and Unreal and we are an official Unreal Academic Partner, which means that our games courses are recognised for our commitment to ongoing, high quality educational opportunities to create positive outcomes for students.

Birmingham City University is accredited by TIGA (The Independent Game Developers Association) which recognises institutions that produce industry ready graduates. You’ll have access to high-specification game development PCs, VR and AR headsets, as well as Sony PlayStation Dev Kits and Xbox controllers.

Our courses aim to develop critical, current, analytical and agile graduates to produce games in a legal and ethical manner and provide a diverse understanding of the key issues that exist in the games industry. As employment-led programmes, we collaborate with industry and professional practitioners to give students contemporary insights into the latest trends and emerging technologies.
