Speech and Language Therapy Clinic
Birmingham City University Speech and Language Therapy Clinic offers various clinical services to service users from across the region. You can be referred by a speech and language therapy service or by yourself/family member.
To attend the Speech and Language Therapy Clinic at BCU you must:

Be able to travel to our campus

Be happy to work with our students

Be happy to be observed by our students

Have a speech/language/communication difficulty

Current services
Our current services include:

Online conversation group for people with aphasia who cannot access campus. This is fortnightly on a Monday 10.30am-12.30pm

Face to face conversation group for people with aphasia. This is (usually) on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 10.30am – 12.30pm. (link to conversation group page)

Online book group for people with aphasia. This is (usually) on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 10.30am – 12.30pm.

Family group for family members of people who attend our groups – this is monthly on the 4th Thursday of the month from 10.30am – 12.30pm.

1:1 assessment and therapy for people with communication difficulties following a stroke (delivered by students) who do not have access to any other local services.
