Emergency accommodation
If you find yourself facing homelessness and have nowhere to sleep at night, then you should present yourself as homeless to your local council office in the town or city where you would usually reside. Please be aware that the University does not have any routine provisions to offer homeless accommodation to students. If would normally reside in Birmingham, you can follow the below advice. If you would normally reside elsewhere, please find information on your relevant council’s homelessness provision or contact one of the below charities.
Support during the day (9am to 4.15pm)
If you need emergency accommodation immediately and you are aged 25 or over, or you are aged 18 to 25 and have dependent children, then please phone the Housing Options Centre on 0121 303 7410.
If you are under 25 and have no dependent children, or are under 18 with dependent children, phone the Youth Hub on either 0121 766 6907 or 0300 303 0099.
Support available out of office hours (5pm until the next morning)
If you need emergency accommodation outside office hours and you are over 18, call the Out of Hours Duty Team on 0121 303 2296. If you are under 18, call the Emergency Duty Team on 0121 675 4806.
