Midlands Imaging Training Academy

Excellent education is vital for developing the imaging workforce and meeting health service demands. Our Radiography staff are at the forefront of imaging education, as reflected by our status as a Midlands Imaging Training Academy (MITA).

As a Midlands Imaging Training Academy, our aim is to develop and expand the provision of flexible and high-quality imaging education with the support of funding from Health Education England. In particular, our teaching team is expanding in the areas of medical ultrasound and reporting radiography.

We teach undergraduate and postgraduate students across the imaging workforce, including doctors, midwives, nurses and radiographers. For example, we support the West Midlands School of Radiology by delivering education to radiology registrars during their specialist medical training.

The Academy offers a recently upgraded Picture Archiving and Communication System reporting suite. The Academy also offers a top-of-the-range ultrasound suite, as well as an x-ray room and wider radiography and health profession focused skills facilities.
