Research Clusters
The Journalism, Activism, Community research cluster explores the role of media in building communities, supporting development, or bringing about political change.
Some of the researchers in the Journalism, Activism, Community cluster have strong backgrounds as activists themselves. Recent projects have addressed issues such as:
- The relationships between universities and community media
- Political film-making
- Citizen journalism in the Arab region
- Hyperlocal media in Britain
- Rethinking humanitarianism in a globalised digital age
