Dr Abdul Ghafoor 

Dr Abdul Ghafoor

Dr Abdul Ghafoor is the Director of the Centre for Accountancy, Finance, and Economics (CAFE) and serves as the Academic Lead for Finance at BCU's AFE College, alongside his role as the Lecturer of Finance at Birmingham City University (BCU). Previously, he worked as Lecturer of Finance at Monash University. He is also a Non-resident Research Fellow at IPAG Business School Paris, France.

He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. His areas of research are corporate finance, corporate governance, and corporate misconduct. His work is published in various international journals such as British Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Finance Research Letters, and others.

    Dr. Shishank Shishank has a multidisciplinary background with a PhD in Operations Management from the University of the West of Scotland. His PhD brings together both management and engineering concepts and was titled Outsourcing: Decision-making during the stages of Design and Engineering.

    Dr  Danilo Spinola holds a PhD on Economics from the United Nations University (UNU-MERIT)/Maastricht University, where he also been a postdoctoral fellow.

  • Dr Mingru Sun

    Senior Lecturer in Finance

    Dr Mingru Sun obtained her PhD in Economics from the University of Birmingham. Her PhD research focused on the investigation of transaction cost, holding period and return volatility in stock markets.  She also holds an MSc in International Money and Banking from the University of Birmingham.

    Dr Erez Yerushalmi joined Birmingham City Business School as lecturer in Economics and Business in 2017.  Prior to joining Birmingham City University, he worked as a Research Fellow in the  Institute for Employment (IER)  at the University of Warwick from 2012, as well as lecturing in Warwick Business School.
