Architecture, Built Environment and Planning

Work in this area is primarily carried out through the School of Engineering and the Built Environment and the Birmingham School of Architecture and has demonstrated significant impact, evidenced in the REF 2014 results.

Examples include the work of Alister Scott in helping planners to make decisions, and managing change at the rural urban fringe. In architecture, Professor Lubo Jankovic is at the forefront of zero carbon building design.
