Changed your mind about your course?
If you applied for your course almost a year ago and you're starting to change your mind, it's not the end of the world. You're not expected to stick with it for life. Clearing gives you a chance to choose another course.
Take our quiz to see which subject area could be for you and take some of the stress out of Clearing.
Steps to changing your course in Clearing
1) Make sure you find the course that's right for you
If you've changed your mind about your course, make sure there's a course you want to study before you ask your universities to release you (that's what our quiz is for!).You want to have a clear goal in mind so you're not turning down potential offers without a plan. See if your course is available through Clearing.
2) Ask your firm or insurance choice to release you
If you're sure you're not interested in your firm or insurance choice any more but you still meet the offer, you'll have to call up your firm/insurance choices and ask them to release you from your application. They'll most likely ask you the reasons why, and the request may not be processed straight away! If you're having serious second thoughts about your course it's best to act as soon as possible.
3) Start applying!
Once you've been released, your Clearing number will show on UCAS Track. With your Clearing number you are now free to apply to universities through Clearing. Remember, you can apply to Birmingham City University over the phone and even through Facebook and Twitter.
4) If you receive an offer and want to accept...
...It's time to add us as one of your clearing choices on UCAS Track! Oh, and congratulations!
Clearing. Let's talk about you.
